McLaren will produce a new variant of its super sports car MP4-12C , named Sprint GT 12C and intended for use on the racetrack.
Developed for the Department of competitions McLaren , the 12C GT Sprint is equipped with the same 3.8-liter V8 with 625 hp and the MP4-12C road. Even the monocoque, in carbon, is the same as the variant " standard ".
Mechanics and technique adapted to the track
For the use on the track, however, the engine adopts some different specifications, borrowed from the GT3 and GT Can-Am Edition such as an improved cooling system, while the suspension adopt a specific calibration.
The transmission is the same as the MP4-12C, double-clutch seven-speed.
Aesthetically, the engineers then introduced some aerodynamic modifications to the McLaren MP4-12C GT Sprint as a wing size XL carbon fiber (optional), air vents on the hood and along the sides.
The trim is lowered by 40 mm while the braking system is carbon ceramic brakes, 19-inch OZ rims fit tires Pirelli slick and on board there is a hydraulic system to facilitate foreign exchange transactions.
The interior: 100% racing
Inside the car the McLaren MP4-12C GT Sprint , then, we find a rollbar FIA approved safety, seat belts with six mounting points, a fire extinguisher and bucket seats in carbon compatible with the ' HANS .
Even the dash is made of carbon fiber with the instrument panel type digital Stack , with controls on the steering wheel.
The only concession to comfort : climate which remains installed, albeit with a lighter and units similar to those used in the GT championships.
