Austin Healey can be considered synonymous with the classic English roadster. Donald Healey, a successful rally driver, founded his company in 1945 and designed the Healey 100, the 1952 scored high attention during his presentation at the London Motor Show.
The company secured the cooperation with Austin Healey, so the sleek roadster was produced in 1953 by the British Motor Corporation (BMC) under the name Austin-Healey 100th In 1956, the 100 replaced the 100 Six with six-cylinder, 1959, the displacement increased from 2.6 to 2.9 liters and from now on as the Roadster was sold 3000.
From 1958 Austin Healey Sprite, the model program successfully extended downward. Because of its placed on the hood of headlight he is also Frogeye (frog eye) to his fans. The end of the British sports car was approaching, when the British Motor Corporation was acquired by British Leyland in 1968.
